How Far Along: 26 weeks
Total Weight Gain: I weighed in at 139.
Maternity Clothes: I received my ASOS maternity jeans in the mail. The legs were WAY to slim, but the waist fit. Maybe that's why they were on clearance. Oh well. I'm thankful for their free shipping and returns.
Stretch Marks: Still none. I just bought the Palmer's Tummy Butter. I'm not exactly sure the difference other than it's more of a pain to put on, but it makes my stomach feel softer for much longer.
Sleep: During week 25 (that I forgot to fill this thing out for) I bought a Snoogle. After a few nights, I'm used to it and it's wonderful. Maybe not $40 worth of wonderful, but it's pretty nice and firm enough for my liking. Mine didn't come with a pillow cover, so I'd like to order one if they are cheap enough.
Best Moment This Week: We finally started watching Game of Thrones again and can I just say this kid moved non-stop while we were watching it. He must be into GOT too.
Miss Anything: Being able to get my shoes on easily. This is starting to be difficult, especially boots!
Movement: Lots. It's so frustrating though to see it out of my peripheral vision, so I stop what I'm doing to look down and watch him move and he quits. It's like he KNOWS and is being stubborn.
Food Cravings: I was really into carrots this week. Which, me craving a vegetable is definitely weird.
Anything Making You Queasy or Sick: Drinking anything first thing in the morning makes me feel nauseated.
Gender: Boy, boy, boy.
Labor Signs: I've started to get Braxton Hicks. I've had the real tight abdomen contractions, where I can't even stand up straight because it's so tight...and also the crampy feeling ones that terrified me the first time they happened. I'm not a fan of those.
Belly Button In/Out: It starts mostly in, but by the end of the day..the top part is just sticking out there. Yuck.
Wedding Rings On/Off: On.
Happy or Moody: Happy.
Looking Forward To: Finishing Christmas shopping.

Weekly Update: 24 weeks
How Far Along: 24 weeks
Total Weight Gain: I weighed in a 139. The doctor is quite pleased with my weight gain. I'm just thankful it's not anywhere but my belly (so far!)
Maternity Clothes: I'm still just using my belly band and thank the lord for leggings. I did order a pair of white maternity jeans from ASOS, they were only $10. I'm hoping they fit!
Stretch Marks: Still none! I take "moisturizing breaks" while I'm at work. My stomach gets so itchy I can't stand it! If I could just walk around with my belly out, it would be better. Having a shirt against it makes it worse.
Sleep: Pretty good. I usually wake up a little earlier than I would like because I can't breathe through my nose, but everything else is pretty decent.
Best Moment This Week: Adam's birthday was this week. We went out for German food, which was delicious. Babysat Piper (seeing Piper play with Adam and want his attention is the cutest thing!)...and even though he already knew what he was getting...I still wrapped and made him open his birthday presents. We also went to Cincinnati for a day over the weekend.
Miss Anything: I haven't had a lot of energy this week. The smallest things are wearing me out.
Movement: So much. Everytime I try to take a video of it though, he stops!
Food Cravings: I still haven't had any "weird" food cravings but while we were in Cincinnati, I HAD to have a fountain drink.
Anything Making You Queasy or Sick: The texture of chicken and my sinuses draining. YUCK.
Gender: Baby BOY Bart.
Labor Signs: None. I also don't think I've had any Braxton Hicks yet either.
Belly Button In/Out: Mostly in. The top is further out than the bottom.
Wedding Rings On/Off: On.
Happy or Moody: Happy-ish. There are days/times that I'm just a grumpbutt for no reason though.
Looking Forward To: Still looking forward to the contractors working on and fixing our house. I need to clean and nest and I'm so tired of having a messy house!

Pregnancy Update: Week 23 (late, surprised?)
How Far Along: 23 weeks
Total Weight Gain: I weighed 132 last month. I go in today, but I guess that's technically week 24s weight...
Maternity Clothes: I'm still just using my belly band and thank the lord for leggings. Walmart sells these amazing legging/jeggings in a variety of colors. I bought three different pairs that I'm loving. I want more!
Stretch Marks: Still none! Instead of smoke breaks, I'm taking "moisturizing breaks". My stomach gets so itchy I can't stand it!
Sleep: I've been so sick feeling that I'm taking a Benadryl at night and sleeping pretty good. Especially since I bought those Breathe Right strips. They make my nose kind of sore, but they totally work.
Best Moment This Week: This week was pretty busy. Three Thanksgiving meals and seeing family was nice...but seeing Adam so excited to put up our Christmas tree and start a tradition for our family was the best and sweetest moment this week.
Miss Anything: I miss being able to move around easily...and I know it's only going to get harder from here!
Movement: Lots! I notice more in the evenings when I'm able to just lay around and relax. You can see him thumping away in my belly. It's hard trying to figure out if I was just kicked or punched. My mom, dad, and grandma all got to feel him this week and that was nice.
Food Cravings: Meh, not really
Anything Making You Queasy or Sick: Still with the texture of chicken.
Gender: Baby BOY Bart.
Labor Signs: None. I've read that Braxton Hicks could be starting soon. I'm assuming I'll know when I have those?
Belly Button In/Out: It's still in for the most part.
Wedding Rings On/Off: On.
Happy or Moody: More moody, but I think it's because I'm trying to fight off a cold of some sort. I can't be wasting energy fighting sickness. I need it for other things, like normal day to day activities.
Looking Forward To: Our contractor's getting to work on the house! They are supposed to start sometime this month, or January.

Pregnancy Update: Week 22
How Far Along: 22 weeks (I forgot about last week - oops)
Total Weight Gain: I weighed 132 at my last doctor visit. According to my pregnancy apps, I should be gaining a pound a week now...that's probably happening.
Maternity Clothes: I still haven't caved. I'm still doing the rubber band trick. I did buy one of those belly panels those so at least it hides my undone zipper.
Stretch Marks: Still none. This week, I've had to take multiple bathroom breaks to go moisturize. SO ITCHY!
Sleep: I've been feeling slightly "allergy sick" recently, so Benadryl has really helped me in the sleep arena.
Best Moment This Week: Adam & I binged. Two nights in a row, we rented and watched two movies. We haven't seen a new movie since...Django Unchained. Yeah, almost a year. So, we saw The Purge, The Heat, World War Z, and This is the End. Well, I went to bed before This is the End...ended. I just wasn't in to it like the other movies.
Miss Anything: My anti-nausea medicine. I either get sick once a day for a few days in a row...or I'll go a few days feeling great, then be sick ALL day.
Movement: Yes. Occasionally they really catch me off guard, but it's a nice little reminder that he's in there. Adam got to feel him moving around last week. I keep trying to find his heartbeat with a stethoscope, but no luck yet.
Food Cravings: Nothing super specific this week, but when I've been sick all day, nothing sounds better than a baked potato. That happened yesterday.
Anything Making You Queasy or Sick: Still with the texture of chicken. It's kind of annoying.
Gender: Baby BOY Bart.
Labor Signs: None. I've read that Braxton Hicks could be starting soon. I'm assuming I'll know when I have those?
Belly Button In/Out: It's still in for the most part.
Wedding Rings On/Off: On.
Happy or Moody: This week, I felt more happy. We completed our registries (Babies R Us and Target), received his car seat in the mail...I'm feeling very productive.
Looking Forward To: Still wanting to get a contractor for the house to finish up so I can get to nesting. I can't wait to move my rocker upstairs and start figuring out how we're going to decorate things. Adam is much better about it than me, so it'll be nice to do it together.

Pregnancy Update: Week 20
How Far Along: 20 weeks
Total Weight Gain: I weighed 132 at my last doctor visit.
Maternity Clothes: Adam is wanting me to suck it up and buy at least two pairs of maternity dress pants. Those suckers are like, $50 a piece, so I'm thinking about just trying to get a pair that's like, a size or two up from my normal and see how those work. Or maybe just some really thick leggings.
Stretch Marks: Still none. I'm using a cocoa butter cream almost everyday. My belly is already so tight, I can feel it stretch when I take a deep breath.
Sleep: Sleep has been less great this week. Constantly waking up, cannot get comfy, and this time change has really messed with me.
Best Moment This Week: Eating Jimmy John's. I have been craving it since I found out I was pregnant, but all the fears of Listeria swirled in my head. Well, the craving got to great. According to Google and message boards, having a delicious Jimmy John's sub every once in a while isn't a bad thing. Although, talking about it now...makes me crave it again!
Miss Anything: Sleeping comfortably and having a clear nose. My nose has been ridiculously stuffy the past few weeks I can barely breathe.
Movement: Wee, yes. I can't wait until Adam can feel it from the outside. Some say it can happen as early as 20 weeks, but no luck yet.
Food Cravings: Jimmy John's. I've also been craving chinese food, specifically noodles and fried rice.
Anything Making You Queasy or Sick: The texture of chicken. I also get sick about once a day and I'm out of my Zofran, so I just have to deal with it now.
Gender: Baby BOY Bart.
Labor Signs: None.
Belly Button In/Out: In. It's coming closer to the surface every day.
Wedding Rings On/Off: On.
Happy or Moody: Mostly happy, except when I'm at work. Very moody when I'm at work and having to deal with people on the phone.
Looking Forward To: Hiring a new contractor to complete our upstairs so we can start painting the nursery. I need to nest. I want to buy a crib. I may try to get Adam up to Ikea. They have a crib I like for $100. Have you ever priced cribs? GEEZ!

Pregnancy Update: Week 19
I forgot to do week 18...I forget to do lots of things now. Do you believe "pregnancy brain" is a real thing? You should. I was not a believer and now, some days I feel like I'm lucky I remember how to get home.
How Far Along: 19 weeks
Total Weight Gain: I weighed in at 132 pounds this week.
Maternity Clothes: I can no longer wear my high waisted jeans because it doesn't look like I'm pregnant, it looks like I have a FUPA, which is unacceptable. There's also only like, two pairs of pants I can now wear to work. I'm going to have to order those waist band extender things!
Stretch Marks: Still none, although my stomach has been very itchy this week. I need to start putting lotion on twice a day I suppose.
Sleep: It's been awful. I think it's because my posture is changing, but I have this terrible pain in my back. It's causing spasms and it gets so bad that it takes my breath. Please go away!
Best Moment This Week: Finding out the sex of baby Bart! Definitely the best moment!
Miss Anything: Sleeping through the night and waking up pain free.
Movement: During the ultrasound, it was so amazing to be able to see baby Bart moving AND feel it. I've been experiencing these muscle twitches for four weeks and not been sure. Now, I KNOW 100% sure when it's the baby moving and it's the most amazing and weird feeling ever.
Food Cravings: Jimmy John's. I'm almost willing to risk getting listeria for a flipping Jimmy John's sub. Please oh please.
Anything Making You Queasy or Sick: The texture of chicken, still. I'm also getting really queasy in the morning due to gross drainage (thanks allergies!).
Gender: It's a boy. BOY. Baby Boy Bart. According to our ultrasound tech, he would not stop showing off the fact that he was boy. I personally never saw it. Even after she pointed it out but I'm taking her word on the fact that we are getting what we wanted. When she told us, Adam got like..a tear in his eye and it was absolutely adorable. I'm glad my instinct was right. I was afraid to tell anyone I felt we were having a boy because I didn't want to be wrong...which may sound silly to some, but I didn't want my motherly intuition to already be off! To reveal our baby's sex, Adam & I had both sets of our parents together for supper. We carved a pumpkin outside on the porch and after dinner...we turned off all the lights and brought it in.
Labor Signs: None.
Belly Button In/Out: In, but it's already making its way to the surface.
Wedding Rings On/Off: On.
Happy or Moody: I've been pretty much just in a "blah" mood. I'm already uncomfortable and in pain, but it's not enough to ruin my good mood.
Looking Forward To: Now that we know it's a boy, I'm looking forward to starting a registry and getting the nursery started.

Happy Birthday to Me in form of...Diaper Bag!
Have you guys heard of Zulily? It's a discount shopping site for the family, mainly focusing on mom/babies/home, but occasionally there's a few things for dad. I've been a member for a while, found some great deals on Toms, but always decided against buying anything....until now.
I've been eyeing this Timi and Leslie diaper bag since I found out I was expecting. I've been trying to wait patiently for it to just appear at the Zappos Outlet, but I couldn't wait any longer!
(copy & pasted from the Timi and Leslie website):
The Hart Convertible Backpack takes the term convertible to a new level. Not only is it a timi & leslie convertible diaper bag, but it’s also a backpack and a shoulder bag! It’s super stylish and functional any which way you wear it! It’s made from easy to clean faux leather (PVC free) and features our custom hardware in an antique brass finish. Hart comes with many functional and fashionable accessories and features:
Last week, it was on Zulily for $99 (it's currently on sale on the Timi and Leslie site for $129), so I had to pounce! I cannot wait for it to get here. It looks like a bag I would carry anyway, so I may not even have to wait for Baby Bart to get here for me to break it it.

Pregnancy Update: Week 17
How Far Along: 17 weeks
Total Weight Gain: At my blood "specialist" visit last week, they weighed me in at 130....but they don't reset their scale after every use like you're supposed to, so I take it with a grain of salt. I also use the term specialist very loosely with that quack. Ugh.
Maternity Clothes: I still haven't bought anything else maternity. I'm currently trying to wear all of my sweaters now to try and determine what will make it the next four months. So far, none of them will.
Stretch Marks: Still no new ones, that I can tell.
Sleep: Maybe it's the full moon, but I have slept terribly the past four days. I wake up at least twice a night to pee. Then, toss and turn to finally fall back asleep....then, go pee again. Adam said he is buying me the Boppy Sleep Pillow. I'm not 100% sure which one Target carries, but hopefully it's something like this (in a different pattern, woof!):

Best Moment This Week: My birthday was this week and although it seemed like a normal day, I got to spend it with Adam, his family, and my parents. Pretty good. We also went to Glendale Days and even though it was disgustingly muddy and cold, Adam got a super cute stuffed Ewok for the baby and I'm excited about it. Now he has to make it a hood.
Miss Anything: I officially cannot sleep on my stomach and it's driving me crazy and making me sad. Laying on my stomach is the only comfy position for me. I also miss my brain. Before this, I thought "pregnancy brain" wasn't real. I am a believer now! I've been mid-conversation and go totally blank, dropped a full cup of sweet tea, mixed my words up...it's terrible!
Movement: Well, I still don't want to say, "yes, i've felt the baby"...but these "muscle twitches" that I keep getting are sometimes so intense, they make me get a little bit nauseous. BUT, if those twitches are the baby, he/she was very happy during church, which is sweet.
Food Cravings: Over-medium eggs still...and crab legs. If you were to ask me, "Amanda, what are you thinking about?" Those two things would almost always be my answer.
Anything Making You Queasy or Sick: Still with the chicken texture. Other than that, it just appears randomly throughout the day.
Gender: 7 days! Still no clue on the reveal, but I guess we'll figure something out.
Labor Signs: None.
Belly Button In/Out: Sadly, my little belly is already starting to push parts of my belly button closer to the edge. I'm so scared.
Wedding Rings On/Off: On.
Happy or Moody: It's weird. I've been incredibly moody. I will snap on someone so quickly, but I still feel in a good mood after....oh well.
Looking Forward To: Our construction being completed, hopefully by the end of this week!

Pregnancy Update: Week 16
How Far Along: 16 weeks
Total Weight Gain: I won't really know until my next doctor visit. I don't even own a scale. All I know is that none of my dress pants button. That's still considered business casual, right?
Maternity Clothes: I have two pairs of pants that Adam's mom bought me, which I am loving. They are so comfy. I also bought three shirts from Kohls because they were ridiculously cheap. Will I actually need them? Who knows!
Stretch Marks: Still none. I bought the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Cream for Stretch Marks. I'm probably going to buy the lotion. This stuff is so thick, it doesn't spread easily and I use way too much.
Sleep: Sleeping as great as I can by only sleeping on my sides.
Best Moment This Week: Eating over-medium eggs at IHop. I shit you not, it was the happiest I have been in a few weeks. Yes. Food can make you that happy. Luckily, Adam was there to see how happy it made me...and the fact that he was there also made me happy.
Miss Anything: Sushi. Being able to eat whatever I want at work and not have people lecture me about what's healthy.
Movement: Again with these muscle twitching things. I'm still not convinced it's the baby, but if something else doesn't happen so...I guess I'll change my mind.
Food Cravings: Over-medium eggs, still. That's about it. I had cravings before pregnancy, so even when I do crave something, it's not odd to me.
Anything Making You Queasy or Sick: The texture of chicken, still. I randomly get very queasy AND sick. At least it's just once a day now.
Gender: We find out in 12 days!
Labor Signs: None.
Belly Button In/Out: In. However, I've already noticed it's starting to get more shallow. This is traumatizing. Although, not so traumatic I would buy the little bandages I found while browsing Amazon that cover your outie belly button.
Wedding Rings On/Off: On.
Happy or Moody: Still mainly happy. There's still the occasional mood swing. The slightest thing makes me want to yell at someone...but yet, I still feel like I'm in a good mood. Is that weird?
Looking Forward To: Well, this weekend is my birthday. We have no plans for it, except painting the bathroom and possibly the closet, but maybe something surprising will happen. Who knows!

Sometimes TV shows just really get me.
Although I don't necessarily like that the final season of How I Met Your Mother is taking place over the span of one weekend...the characters are still on point and the humor is still there. In last week's episode, Robin tries to make a new girl friend since Lily is moving to Rome. The above screencap pretty much sums up my entire personality, hence my overabundance of girl friend's (cough *sarcasm* cough).

Pregnancy Update: Week 15
Who Dey! So this isn't a belly photo, but it's the only photo taken of me during Week 15, so...enjoy my niece's beautiful face. |
How Far Along? 15 weeks
Total Weight Gain: I weighed in at 125, gaining 3 pounds since my 11 week visit. The doctor was thrilled since she wants me to gain 40 pounds. FORTY.
Maternity Clothes: I think it's just a matter of time now before I cave and buy some maternity dress pants. My work clothes are just so uncomfortable now, I can't imagine in a few more weeks.
Stretch Marks: Still none. Trying my best to remember to moisturize.
Sleep: Aside from waking up several times to pee, I'm still sleeping great.
Best Moment This Week: Hearing baby Bart's heartbeat. The suspense kills me until the doc actually finds it.
Miss Anything: Runny eggs. Although a friend told me that as long as the eggs are pasteurized, I can have them. If this is true, man am I going to demolish some over medium eggs!
Movement: I felt this twitching thing. Kind of felt like a muscle spasm. The doctor said it COULD have been the baby...but I think it was just my body being weird. I'm still waiting for that stereotypical "bubbles popping" experience. We'll see.
Food Cravings: I want some sushi so bad!
Anything Making You Queasy or Sick: The texture of chicken is bothering me....makes me gag...which is a bad thing since chicken and fish are the only meat I eat.
Gender: Still unknown.
Labor Signs: None.
Belly Button, In or Out: In, in, in. Stay in.
Wedding Rings On or Off: On.
Happy or Moody: I think I've been more happy than moody this week. Which is a good thing. I'm moddy enough without being pregnant :)

Pregnancy Update: Week 14
How far along? 14 weeks
Maternity clothes? Not currently wearing any, but
Stretch marks? None yet.
Sleep: Sleeping great. Minimum of 1 pee trip a night, but usually 3.
Best moment this week: Construction on our house started. This would also be considered the worst moment of the week.
Miss Anything? Runny eggs. I crave them like crazy. Another mom told me I could have them if the eggs were pasteurized though, so I may try my luck.
Movement: I thought I felt something the other night while laying in bed, but I think my body was just twitching. It seemed too low to be the baby!
Food cravings: Hooters (which I got!), runny eggs, and my mom's chili
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still everything, just not as often. I'm only having to take the Zofran like, once a day now!
Gender: We still won't know until Oct 28th. Still hoping for a boy.
Labor Signs: None.
Symptoms: Still nauseous. Still tired. Not super moody, but sometimes I'm just way more easily irritated.
Belly Button in or out? In, praise the Lord.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Neither. I'm more "blah" most of the time.
Looking forward to: Construction on our house being finished, but that's not for at least another month...so until then I'll be stressing out about it.

Pregnancy Update: Week 13
13 Weeks. Feeling more fat than pregnant. |
How far along? 13 weeks
Maternity clothes? I own one pair of maternity pants that I've only worn once when I was more bloated than pregnant. So far it's still my regular clothes with an occasional unbuttoned pant :)
Stretch marks? None yet.
Sleep: I'm still sleeping great, with the few get up to pee times a night.
Best moment this week: So far, going to The Cheesecake Factory and Forever 21.
Miss Anything? Not being able to order the Seared Ahi Tuna at The Cheesecake Factory. Ugh, that shit is legit.
Movement: None yet. Adam's mom says it will feel like butterflies, so I'm just kind of waiting.
Food cravings: I haven't actually craved anything yet.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Ugh, everything...although my morning sickness is slightly better. It's changed from all-day sickness to nigh/early morning sickness.
Gender: We find out October 28th!
Labor Signs: No!
Symptoms: Nausea and exhaustion, still.
Belly Button in or out? In. Oh my gosh I am terrified of when it pops out.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or Moody most of the time: I'm not necessarily happy most of the time, but I'm not moody either. (Adam would tell you otherwise). I just feel too exhausted to have emotions.
Looking forward to: Currently looking forward to a nap.

Guess who's having a baby?
The girl with a blog titled, Growing Baby Bart. Guess that gave it away. Oops!
My wonderful mother went with me to my first doctor's appointment. I knew I was about 6 weeks and the doctor agreed, at first. Then the ultrasound came, she found this tiny little blob of a thing with a heartbeat and said,
"Your baby is measuring larger than a normal 6 weeks, so we're going to bump your due date up, which would currently make you 7 weeks 3 days."
How a doctor can just change your due date based on how fast the baby has already grown kind of baffles me, but she's the expert, right?
So, we've known since July 18th that we were having a baby. We told our immediate families within the next two weeks and our closest friends, but wanted to wait until it was "safer" to make the announcement on FaceBook. So we waited, and waited, and waited. I'm pretty sure my dad's head would have exploded if we had waited any longer. He was dying to let people know!
This is what we came up with to make our grand reveal:
I had always known I wanted to include our dog, Lola in the announcement. I mean, she is my furry, four-legged baby. I had seen something similar on Pinterest and thought, we could do that without a professional photographer...so with my father-in-law's help and some photoshop, it was finished.
It feels a lot better having it out in the open and no longer a secret. It's so hard to be careful about complaining about symptoms of pregnancy without revealing that you're pregnant!
I'm going to be updating this blog weekly with a little survey I found and photographs of my expanding belly and other things. Don't get too excited, I'm not a photographer and all of my photos will come from my Galaxy S3 :)
