Pregnancy Update: 36 weeks

How Far Along: 36 Weeks

Total Weight Gain: I weighed 154, again.  Proof that last week it was because of my rain boots.

Maternity Clothes:  Maternity pants mostly and the same repetitive shirts.

Stretch Marks:  Still none!

Sleep:  Aside from waking up to pee a lot, I'm also waking up a lot to change positions because this baby is KILLING my hips.  I guess it's good...like, slow and steady at stretching my bones but damn it hurts.

Best Moment This Week:  Facetiming Piper and seeing her and Adam "play catch" with her ball.  Adam hits his phone screen with the ball and Piper slaps the other phone screen trying to catch the ball.  It made me laugh until I was crying.  I wish we could have recorded it!

Miss Anything:  I miss not having to answer the same basic questions over and over to complete strangers that I don't even know.  Yes, I'm unfriendly, I know, but geez people, you don't even know who I am why are you so concerned with what's growing in my belly?

Movement:  Not as crazy as it used to be, but he's still moving a lot and in BIG movements.

Food Cravings:  I have wanted sushi so bad this week.

Anything Making You Queasy or Sick: Chicken still.  I made Adam this Honey Dijon chicken (the recipe is from plainchicken) and just thawing it out grossed me out.

Gender:  Boy.

Labor Signs:  None.

Belly Button In/Out:  Out most of the time.  Depending on where he is makes it stick out more/less.

Wedding Rings On/Off: On, but I'm debating taking them off.

Happy or Moody: Moody, so moody.

Looking Forward To:  Our ultrasound next week!  The doctor said he's measuring ahead (again) and wants to get it checked out.  Make sure my fluid is good and all that other medical stuff I don't really know about.

Pregnancy Update: 35 weeks

How Far Along: 35 Weeks

Total Weight Gain: I weighed 154 at my last visit, but I was wearing my Hunter winter boots.  So, I'm being "that" girl and saying that because of my shoes, my weight was slightly off.  BUT, I'm definitely at least 154 now.  Sigh.

Maternity Clothes:  I'm still stretching all of my clothes out as much as I can.  It seems silly to cave and buy maternity shirts NOW with only FIVE weeks left.

Stretch Marks: I don't have any.  Instead, I have something called PUPPPS (Pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy and it SUCKS.  Remember those cheetah spot looking things I said I had two weeks ago?  That was the start of it, then it starts to itch, then it spreads and it doesn't go away until after delivery.  I'm trying really, really hard not to scratch it because I don't want it to spread all over my body.  Also, I made the mistake of Google Image Searching PUPPPS and I am so traumatized.  Luckily, mine doesn't look like that...

Sleep:  I'm not sleeping great, but at least I'm sleeping.  I wake up a few times a night to switch sides because my hips hurt so bad, which I don't get.  I'm sleeping with a pillow between my legs, but it feels like my hips are like...collapsing.

Best Moment This Week:  Getting the "big" stuff in the nursery.  Piper helped us put together the crib, she's the cutest.  We also went to our labor prep class and I only almost passed out once.  Go me.

Miss Anything:  Not being in the bathroom every 20 minutes :)

Movement:  Still lots and I still can't tell what is jutting out from my belly.  I don't know if it was a coincidence or not, but the other day Adam put a song on and he started going crazy in my belly!

Food Cravings:  Sonic's ice still. Almost every day before or after work, I get a route 44 and chow down.  I can't get enough.  I've also been super thirsty, so the ice solves two things.

Anything Making You Queasy or Sick: Chicken..and sometimes in the morning, just being awake I feel nauseous.  If morning sickness comes back I'm going to be so mad.

Gender: Baby boy.

Labor Signs: Now that he's
bigger, it's kind of hard to tell if I'm having Braxton Hicks or if his whole body has just moved to the front of my stomach.

Belly Button In/Out: Mostly out I think.

Wedding Rings On/Off: On, but I have noticed that I am starting to swell in my fingers a little bit.

Happy or Moody:  Still moody.  I'm so itchy all the time, it's hard not to be cranky!

Looking Forward To:  We're having our final baby shower on Saturday!  I can't wait to get the nursery finished and I feel like we can't really until we have all of his stuff, which we don't have yet!

Pregnancy Update: 33 Weeks

How Far Along: 33 Weeks

Total Weight Gain:  I weighed 150 at my last doctor's visit on 1/27/14.  I go in today, but that weight totally counts for 34 weeks.  I'm sure it's more...

Maternity Clothes:  Still only a few pairs of maternity pants.  Lucky for me this week has only consisted of work and then house work, so lots of pajamas.  Granted, my belly hangs out the bottom of my shirts while I'm at home, but I'm at home...so it doesn't matter.

Stretch Marks:  I don't think I have any....BUT I do have these weird red areas that itch really bad, almost like a rash because they're more like cheetah spot shaped.  I'd like for them to go away/not turn into stretchmarks.

Sleep:  Well, this week has broken my "wake up to pee" record.  Four times a night and Adam has sort of figured out that schedule, which is weird to me, but two of the four times I get up, he's still awake.  I've also had lots of heartburn/indigestion waking me up.  Oh and a new thing this week...having dreams that involve me holding my breath.  So, I've woken up several times gasping for air because apparently I think it's a good idea to hold me breath while I'm sleeping.

Best Moment This Week:  Actually putting things in the nursery that belong in the nursery.

Miss Anything:  My normal sized legs/ankles/feet.  I've experienced lots of swelling this week and it freaks me out.  My legs/ankles/feet are sore from being so swollen.  I also miss being able to get off the couch/bed/etc without using a rocking motion.

Movement:  Quite a lot, but now it's just big lumps on one side or the other.  I still can't tell what is what....I just always assume it's his butt sticking out.

Food Cravings: It's not a food, but Sonic's ice.  Almost every day before or after work, I get a route 44 and chow down.

Anything Making You Queasy or Sick:  Chicken

Gender: Baby boy.

Labor Signs:  Now that he's bigger, it's kind of hard to tell if I'm having Braxton Hicks or if his whole body has just moved to the front of my stomach.

Belly Button In/Out:  Mostly out I guess.  I can't see much of it.

Wedding Rings On/Off: On, but I have noticed that I am starting to swell in my fingers a little bit.

Happy or Moody:  Moody.  I constantly feel like I don't have enough room and it's frustrating.  Mainly because I have to have THAT much room to get off the couch, reach the table, put on my shoes.  AHHH!

Looking Forward To:  The crib is supposed to come next week.  Once it's here, we can officially figure out how we're doing the layout of the nursery.

Pregnancy Update: 32 Weeks

How Far Along:  32 Weeks

Total Weight Gain:  This week I weighed 150.  The doctor keeps saying how thrilled she is with my weight and I keep telling her I am less than thilled.

Maternity Clothes:  I'm still stretching all of my normal shirts to the max and luckily they are still holding up!

Stretch Marks:  Still none!

Sleep:  I'm tired all the time and now I'm waking up at least three times a night to pee, so that definitely isn't helping.

Best Moment This Week:  My dad went with me to my doctor's appointment and seeing his face when he heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time was so sweet and adorable.

Miss Anything:  Getting enough air.  The other night Adam and I had this conversation:

Adam:  "What's wrong with you?"
Me:  "What?  Nothing, why?"
Adam:  "You're huffing and sighing like something is wrong."

Nope.  Just trying to breathe.  You know how breathing is supposed to be an involuntary reflex?  Well, my brain has decided it has more important things to think about than breathing.

Movement:  Still a lot and they are such strong kicks, jabs, and rolls!  I still can't necessarily figure out what body part is jutting out of my stomach, but it's fun to push back and feel him squirm to a different spot.  I can also tell that he is super long.  I can feel punches in my pubic bone and kicks under my ribs.  He has no problem taking up all of my belly space.

Food Cravings:  I haven't craved too much specifically this week, but I have been SO THIRSTY.  Which, I guess me drinking a lot of water isn't a bad thing, except that I'm peeing every 15 minutes.

Anything Making You Queasy or Sick:  Chicken and anytime I have the slightest bit of sinus drainage, yuck.

Gender:  Baby boy.

Labor Signs:  I think this week I experienced "lightening", which is where the baby's head drops lower into your pelvis.  I think this because there are times where I'm experiencing so much pain, I can't walk.  I just have to stop in my tracks and possibly sit for a while.  If I'm standing, I can't lift either of my legs (like trying to put on socks, HA!) without being in pain.  Also, because of my increase in the need to pee.

So, I can deal with the pain, but what worries me is that this is one sign of labor and it usually occurs anywhere between 2 and 4 weeks before the birth of your baby.  UM, excuse me Baby Bart, you can not come out in the next 2-4 weeks.  NO!

Belly Button In/Out: I guess it's as out as it's going to get.  To me it kind of just looks flat...and gross.

Wedding Rings On/Off: On. I haven't had a lot of issues with swelling. My ankles get slightly puffy, but my hands haven't really.

Happy or Moody:  Slightly less moody than last week, but still pretty irritable.

Looking Forward To:  The constuction started back up on our house this week and so far, the results are fabulous.  I'm already pleased with the company's work and can't wait for them to finish.  They said they would be done by Friday.  As in, three days from now!  Then, we can get to cleaning and painting and nesting.  We still have to buy a crib..and lots of other things.  So, once the construction is done, I'm looking forward to my next baby shower in February!

Pregnancy Update: 31 Weeks

How Far Along: 31 weeks.  Only like, two more months to go.  I'm just now "okay" with being pregnant and haven't even started to grasp that I'll have an actual baby soon.

Deb captures my feelings perfectly

Total Weight Gain: I weighed in at 147.6 last week which I still can't grasp.

Maternity Clothes:  I've mainly been wearing my colored jeggings from Wal-Mart because my maternity pants are the like, stretchy band up to your boobs style and itch me like crazy.

Stretch Marks: Still none, but my stomach feels so tight it might just rip open.

Sleep:  Go to bed.  Wake up.  Take a minimum of 30 minutes to fall back asleep.  Wake up.  Take a minimum of 1 hour to fall back asleep.  Wake up.  Go to work exhausted.  Come home exhausted.  This week has not been good in the sleep arena.

Best Moment This Week:  Not having to work on Monday.  Yay for federal holidays!  We also bought our high chair (and Adam put it together) and it looks awesome.  We also bought a china hutch that I have an idea for in the nursery.

Miss Anything:  Breathing.  I had difficulty breathing before being pregnant due to my asthma.  Now though, my nose is always stuffy and he is like, IN my ribs now so even when I lean back I can't get a full breath.

Movement:  Still a lot.  It's starting to drive me crazy that I can't tell what body part is pushing through my stomach.  Is it a butt?...head?...knee?

Food Cravings:  These "fish sticks" I bought.  They're better than fish sticks, but not like..."real" fish either.  I don't know, but they are so delish.

Anything Making You Queasy or Sick:  Just the sight of raw chicken makes me heave.

Gender:  Boy.

Labor Signs:  Still just Braxton Hicks.  I have been so thirsty this week though that they've been pretty minimal.

Belly Button In/Out: I think it's all the way out.  Like, not full blown "outtie" belly button, but out enough that you can see it through a tight shirt.

Wedding Rings On/Off: On. I haven't had a lot of issues with swelling. My ankles get slightly puffy, but my hands haven't really.

Happy or Moody:  So moody.  SO moody!  I wish it would stop though because a lot of the time I don't realize it until after it's already happened.

Looking Forward To:  Construction starts on Monday, praise the Lord!

Pregnancy Update: 30 weeks

How Far Along:  30 weeks - holy cow he will be here so soon!

Total Weight Gain: I weighed in at a whopping 147.6!  I still cannot get over that I weigh this much, but so lucky it's all in my belly.......and boobs.....

Maternity Clothes:  Everything has made my belly itch this week so I've been opting more for low rise pants (thanks rubberband for keeping them closed) and flowy tops.

Stretch Marks:  Still none that I can tell.

Sleep:  I've been ready for bed by 7 every night this week.  The first trimester exhaustion has come back with a vengeance.  I can barely keep my eyes open while I'm at work.  I miss naps.

Best Moment This Week:  Well, this week I actually had the energy to cook supper.  Such a small thing, but it's huge.  Aside from my gag reflex, I haven't felt much like cooking because it takes energy.  Then, cleaning it up also takes energy.  Much more energy than I have to give.

Miss Anything:  Being able to sit comfortably.  Sitting/laying in the floor used to be the most comfortable and relaxing thing for me.  Now, I can't even get down into the floor/back up without it killing my lower back...and I also need something to help get me up.

Movement:  He's starting to move more during the day, but still not as much as at night when I get home.  The doctor said that if he isn't moving at least 10 times in his "busiest" 2 hours, I need to go to the hospital immediately.  Luckily, he gets those 10 moves in within like, 30 seconds of counting.  I'm thankful he moves so much so I know he's doing alright in there.

Food Cravings:  Breakfast foods this week.  Lots of breakfast foods.

Anything Making You Queasy or Sick:  Again with chicken.  I cannot believe the one meat I eat on a normal basis is what makes me the queasiest.

Gender:  A boy.  I made the mistake of reading a blog article about a woman who was told she was having a girl, then at her next ultrasound found out it was really a boy.  Since we don't get any more ultrasounds, I'm terrified this will happen to us!

Labor Signs: Braxton Hicks.  Not as much this week.  Maybe because I've been so thirsty.  Lots of water is supposed to help keep them at bay.

Belly Button In/Out:  I think it's all the way out.  Adam found out that when I laugh hard it goes in and out, kind of bounching up and down...so now it's his goal to make me laugh anytime he can see my belly button.

Wedding Rings On/Off: On.  I haven't had a lot of issues with swelling.  My ankles get slightly puffy, but my hands haven't really.

Happy or Moody:  Still moody this week.  Everything annoys me.

Looking Forward To:  Still counting down the day until the construction resumes on our house.  I can't wait to have a clean house.

Pregnancy Update: 29 Weeks

How Far Along: 29 weeks

Total Weight Gain: The scale said 144 at my last doctor visit. It's probably gone up since then.  I'll find out next week my new weight.

Maternity Clothes:   This week I've only worn my maternity work pants and leggings.  Anything that touches my stomach makes it incredibly itchy so I've wanted to be as comfy as possible.

Stretch Marks:  Still none that I can tell.

Sleep:  Waking up at least once a night to go pee.  I've also woken up a few times this week wide awake in the middle of the night.  It takes me a while to fall back asleep.  That's probably why I've been more tired.

Best Moment This Week:  My friend Annie and her baby Zeke came to visit this weekend.  We had a joint shower for me and my friend Dezi in Campbellsville.  It was so great (and exhausting) seeing everyone!

Miss Anything:  Having energy.  It's slowly going downhill, like....first trimester exhaustion again!

Movement:  A lot and you can see it all through my stomach!  Some nights, my belly looks like a waterbed.  I still can't figure out what body part is poking out or hitting/kicking me and that kind of drives me crazy, but it's the most amazing and creepy thing to watch.

Food Cravings:  This week I craved McDonald's french fries like, every day.  I only had them...3 times.  Go me!

Anything Making You Queasy or Sick:  Chicken.  I had this big plan to cook supper.  Thawed out the chicken, went into the kitchen to cut it up and just looking at it made me heave.  So, um...cooking is still out for the most part.

Gender:  Hopefully he's still a boy ;)

Labor Signs:  Braxton Hicks only and not that often.  Maybe once or twice a week.

Belly Button In/Out:  Well, when I look down at it, the top part is out.  I can't really see the bottom.....

Wedding Rings On/Off: On.

Happy or Moody:  I've been moody this week.  VERY easily frustrated.

Looking Forward To:  Construction starting and getting finished.  Finally being able to get his nursery started and my next shower.  Jill is planning one for February!

Pregnancy Update: Week 28

How Far Along: 28 weeks

Total Weight Gain:  The scale said 144 at my last doctor visit.  It's probably gone up since then.  Every app talks about how I'll gain the most weight this trimester.

Maternity Clothes:   Still only maternity pants for work.  Luckily, because of my long arms/torso, before pregnancy most of my tops were oversized.  Now they're fitting more how they probably should.

Stretch Marks:  Still none.  Although when I wake up I'm always freaked out due to the wrinkles on my stomach from my shirt.

Sleep:  I've been getting incredibly tired by about 7, but once I get in bed it takes me a while to get comfy enough to fall asleep.  Then I wake up several times a night.  I've been exhausted this week!

Best Moment This Week:  . Um, pregnancy brain.  I don't really remember what happened last week, oops.

Miss Anything:  Falling asleep and staying asleep.

Movement:  So much.  Still mainly at night.  While I'm at work, after sitting up straight for a while, when I lean back, he goes crazy, like he's thanking me for the extra room or something.

Food Cravings:  I craved Arby's a lot this week.

Anything Making You Queasy or Sick:  Luckily, nothing this week.

Gender: Boy, boy, boy.

Labor Signs:  Braxton Hicks still.  Whoever said they ease up with walking was a liar.

Belly Button In/Out:  Bottom half is in, the top half is out.  It's like a little cave.

Wedding Rings On/Off: On.

Happy or Moody:  Pretty happy

Looking Forward To:  January 26th is the official start date of our contractors!

Thursday, January 2, 2014

Pregnancy Update: 27 weeks

How Far Along: 27 weeks

Total Weight Gain:  I just got weighed at the doctor.  The scale said 144!  I cannot believe that.

Maternity Clothes:   I have two pairs of black maternity pants for work and I am so glad I finally caved and bought some.  Although, I wouldn't have bought them if the JCPenney outlet weren't going out of business and I bought them for $5.00 a pair!

Stretch Marks:  Still none, thank the Lord!

Sleep:  Meh.  Not the greatest.  I usually wake up at least once a night and can't fall back asleep for anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour, which is frustrating.

Best Moment This Week:  Well, this week was during Christmas, so I'd have to say celebrating all of the Christmas activities.  In particular, Adam and I decided to each open one present on Festivus (December 23rd) and this would become one of our traditions for Baby Bart.

Miss Anything:  Lots of things, recently it's been sushi.

Movement:  So much.  He looks like a little alien trying to punch his way out.  I FINALLY caught him moving on film.  He's already making my belly move so much now, I can't imagine when he's bigger.  I may be one of those mom's that can be like, "Oh look, there's his foot".

Food Cravings:  Carrots again.  Thankful for a lady at work who always lets me have some of hers :)

Anything Making You Queasy or Sick:  Drinking anything on an empty stomach makes me queasy.

Gender: Boy, boy, boy.

Labor Signs:  Braxton Hicks still get me on occasion.  Now I'm only getting the "tightening" ones, which I prefer over the "crampy" feeling ones.  I started drinking the Earth Mama Angel Baby Third Trimester Tea and also some random brand Red Raspberry Leaf tea.  Granted, I don't think I'll know if it actually helps since this is my first child, but I'm willing to do just about anything when it tells me I'll have an easier delivery and recovery.

Belly Button In/Out:  The top is sticking out, so much sometimes that I can see it through my clothes.  Ick.

Wedding Rings On/Off: On.

Happy or Moody:  This week I was pretty happy considering all of the holiday traffic, noise, and whatnot.

Looking Forward To:  Getting his nursery done.  Come on, contractors!

Pregnancy Update: 26 Weeks

How Far Along: 26 weeks

Total Weight Gain: I weighed in at 139.

Maternity Clothes:  I received my ASOS maternity jeans in the mail.  The legs were WAY to slim, but the waist fit.  Maybe that's why they were on clearance.  Oh well.  I'm thankful for their free shipping and returns.

Stretch Marks:  Still none.  I just bought the Palmer's Tummy Butter.  I'm not exactly sure the difference other than it's more of a pain to put on, but it makes my stomach feel softer for much longer.

Sleep:  During week 25 (that I forgot to fill this thing out for) I bought a Snoogle.  After a few nights, I'm used to it and it's wonderful.  Maybe not $40 worth of wonderful, but it's pretty nice and firm enough for my liking.  Mine didn't come with a pillow cover, so I'd like to order one if they are cheap enough.

Best Moment This Week:  We finally started watching Game of Thrones again and can I just say this kid moved non-stop while we were watching it.  He must be into GOT too.

Miss Anything:  Being able to get my shoes on easily.  This is starting to be difficult, especially boots!

Movement:  Lots.  It's so frustrating though to see it out of my peripheral vision, so I stop what I'm doing to look down and watch him move and he quits.  It's like he KNOWS and is being stubborn.

Food Cravings:  I was really into carrots this week.  Which, me craving a vegetable is definitely weird.

Anything Making You Queasy or Sick:  Drinking anything first thing in the morning makes me feel nauseated.

Gender:  Boy, boy, boy.

Labor Signs:  I've started to get Braxton Hicks.  I've had the real tight abdomen contractions, where I can't even stand up straight because it's so tight...and also the crampy feeling ones that terrified me the first time they happened.  I'm not a fan of those.

Belly Button In/Out:  It starts mostly in, but by the end of the day..the top part is just sticking out there.  Yuck.

Wedding Rings On/Off: On.

Happy or Moody:  Happy.

Looking Forward To:  Finishing Christmas shopping.

Wednesday, December 18, 2013

Weekly Update: 24 weeks

How Far Along: 24 weeks

Total Weight Gain: I weighed in a 139.  The doctor is quite pleased with my weight gain.  I'm just thankful it's not anywhere but my belly (so far!)

Maternity Clothes: I'm still just using my belly band and thank the lord for leggings.  I did order a pair of white maternity jeans from ASOS, they were only $10.  I'm hoping they fit!

Stretch Marks: Still none!  I take "moisturizing breaks" while I'm at work. My stomach gets so itchy I can't stand it!  If I could just walk around with my belly out, it would be better.  Having a shirt against it makes it worse.

Sleep:  Pretty good.  I usually wake up a little earlier than I would like because I can't breathe through my nose, but everything else is pretty decent.

Best Moment This Week:  Adam's birthday was this week.  We went out for German food, which was delicious.  Babysat Piper (seeing Piper play with Adam and want his attention is the cutest thing!)...and even though he already knew what he was getting...I still wrapped and made him open his birthday presents.  We also went to Cincinnati for a day over the weekend.

Miss Anything:  I haven't had a lot of energy this week.  The smallest things are wearing me out.

Movement:  So much.  Everytime I try to take a video of it though, he stops!

Food Cravings:  I still haven't had any "weird" food cravings but while we were in Cincinnati, I HAD to have a fountain drink.

Anything Making You Queasy or Sick:  The texture of chicken and my sinuses draining.  YUCK.

Gender: Baby BOY Bart.

Labor Signs: None.  I also don't think I've had any Braxton Hicks yet either.

Belly Button In/Out:  Mostly in.  The top is further out than the bottom.

Wedding Rings On/Off: On.

Happy or Moody:  Happy-ish.  There are days/times that I'm just a grumpbutt for no reason though.

Looking Forward To:  Still looking forward to the contractors working on and fixing our house.  I need to clean and nest and I'm so tired of having a messy house!

Pregnancy Update: Week 23 (late, surprised?)

How Far Along: 23 weeks

Total Weight Gain: I weighed 132 last month.  I go in today, but I guess that's technically week 24s weight...

Maternity Clothes:  I'm still just using my belly band and thank the lord for leggings.  Walmart sells these amazing legging/jeggings in a variety of colors.  I bought three different pairs that I'm loving.  I want more!

Stretch Marks: Still none!  Instead of smoke breaks, I'm taking "moisturizing breaks".  My stomach gets so itchy I can't stand it!

Sleep:  I've been so sick feeling that I'm taking a Benadryl at night and sleeping pretty good.  Especially since I bought those Breathe Right strips.  They make my nose kind of sore, but they totally work.

Best Moment This Week:  This week was pretty busy.  Three Thanksgiving meals and seeing family was nice...but seeing Adam so excited to put up our Christmas tree and start a tradition for our family was the best and sweetest moment this week.

Miss Anything:  I miss being able to move around easily...and I know it's only going to get harder from here!

Movement:  Lots!  I notice more in the evenings when I'm able to just lay around and relax.  You can see him thumping away in my belly.  It's hard trying to figure out if I was just kicked or punched.  My mom, dad, and grandma all got to feel him this week and that was nice.

Food Cravings:  Meh, not really

Anything Making You Queasy or Sick: Still with the texture of chicken.

Gender: Baby BOY Bart.

Labor Signs: None. I've read that Braxton Hicks could be starting soon. I'm assuming I'll know when I have those?

Belly Button In/Out: It's still in for the most part.

Wedding Rings On/Off: On.

Happy or Moody:  More moody, but I think it's because I'm trying to fight off a cold of some sort.  I can't be wasting energy fighting sickness.  I need it for other things, like normal day to day activities.

Looking Forward To:   Our contractor's getting to work on the house!  They are supposed to start sometime this month, or January.

Pregnancy Update: Week 22

How Far Along: 22 weeks (I forgot about last week - oops)

Total Weight Gain: I weighed 132 at my last doctor visit.  According to my pregnancy apps, I should be gaining a pound a week now...that's probably happening.

Maternity Clothes:  I still haven't caved.  I'm still doing the rubber band trick.  I did buy one of those belly panels those so at least it hides my undone zipper.

Stretch Marks: Still none.  This week, I've had to take multiple bathroom breaks to go moisturize.  SO ITCHY!

Sleep:  I've been feeling slightly "allergy sick" recently, so Benadryl has really helped me in the sleep arena.

Best Moment This Week:  Adam & I binged.  Two nights in a row, we rented and watched two movies.  We haven't seen a new movie since...Django Unchained.  Yeah, almost a year.  So, we saw The Purge, The Heat, World War Z, and This is the End.  Well, I went to bed before This is the End...ended.  I just wasn't in to it like the other movies.

Miss Anything:  My anti-nausea medicine.  I either get sick once a day for a few days in a row...or I'll go a few days feeling great, then be sick ALL day.

Movement:  Yes.  Occasionally they really catch me off guard, but it's a nice little reminder that he's in there.  Adam got to feel him moving around last week.  I keep trying to find his heartbeat with a stethoscope, but no luck yet.

Food Cravings:  Nothing super specific this week, but when I've been sick all day, nothing sounds better than a baked potato.  That happened yesterday.

Anything Making You Queasy or Sick:  Still with the texture of chicken.  It's kind of annoying.

Gender: Baby BOY Bart.

Labor Signs: None.  I've read that Braxton Hicks could be starting soon.  I'm assuming I'll know when I have those?

Belly Button In/Out: It's still in for the most part.

Wedding Rings On/Off: On.

Happy or Moody:  This week, I felt more happy.  We completed our registries (Babies R Us and Target), received his car seat in the mail...I'm feeling very productive.

Looking Forward To:   Still wanting to get a contractor for the house to finish up so I can get to nesting.  I can't wait to move my rocker upstairs and start figuring out how we're going to decorate things.  Adam is much better about it than me, so it'll be nice to do it together.

Pregnancy Update: Week 20

How Far Along:  20 weeks

Total Weight Gain:  I weighed 132 at my last doctor visit.

Maternity Clothes:  Adam is wanting me to suck it up and buy at least two pairs of maternity dress pants.  Those suckers are like, $50 a piece, so I'm thinking about just trying to get a pair that's like, a size or two up from my normal and see how those work.  Or maybe just some really thick leggings.

Stretch Marks: Still none.  I'm using a cocoa butter cream almost everyday.  My belly is already so tight, I can feel it stretch when I take a deep breath.

Sleep:  Sleep has been less great this week.  Constantly waking up, cannot get comfy, and this time change has really messed with me.

Best Moment This Week:  Eating Jimmy John's.  I have been craving it since I found out I was pregnant, but all the fears of Listeria swirled in my head.  Well, the craving got to great.  According to Google and message boards, having a delicious Jimmy John's sub every once in a while isn't a bad thing.  Although, talking about it now...makes me crave it again!

Miss Anything:  Sleeping comfortably and having a clear nose.  My nose has been ridiculously stuffy the past few weeks I can barely breathe.

Movement:  Wee, yes.  I can't wait until Adam can feel it from the outside.  Some say it can happen as early as 20 weeks, but no luck yet.

Food Cravings:  Jimmy John's.  I've also been craving chinese food, specifically noodles and fried rice.

Anything Making You Queasy or Sick:  The texture of chicken.  I also get sick about once a day and I'm out of my Zofran, so I just have to deal with it now.

Gender:  Baby BOY Bart.

Labor Signs: None.

Belly Button In/Out: In.  It's coming closer to the surface every day.

Wedding Rings On/Off: On.

Happy or Moody:  Mostly happy, except when I'm at work.  Very moody when I'm at work and having to deal with people on the phone.

Looking Forward To:   Hiring a new contractor to complete our upstairs so we can start painting the nursery.  I need to nest.  I want to buy a crib.  I may try to get Adam up to Ikea.  They have a crib I like for $100.  Have you ever priced cribs?  GEEZ!

Pregnancy Update: Week 19

I forgot to do week 18...I forget to do lots of things now.  Do you believe "pregnancy brain" is a real thing?  You should.  I was not a believer and now, some days I feel like I'm lucky I remember how to get home.

How Far Along: 19 weeks

Total Weight Gain:  I weighed in at 132 pounds this week.

Maternity Clothes:  I can no longer wear my high waisted jeans because it doesn't look like I'm pregnant, it looks like I have a FUPA, which is unacceptable.  There's also only like, two pairs of pants I can now wear to work.  I'm going to have to order those waist band extender things!

Stretch Marks: Still none, although my stomach has been very itchy this week.  I need to start putting lotion on twice a day I suppose.

Sleep:  It's been awful.  I think it's because my posture is changing, but I have this terrible pain in my back.  It's causing spasms and it gets so bad that it takes my breath.  Please go away!

Best Moment This Week:  Finding out the sex of baby Bart!  Definitely the best moment!

Baby Bart's Mid-point ultrasound

Miss Anything:  Sleeping through the night and waking up pain free.

Movement:  During the ultrasound, it was so amazing to be able to see baby Bart moving AND feel it.  I've been experiencing these muscle twitches for four weeks and not been sure.  Now, I KNOW 100% sure when it's the baby moving and it's the most amazing and weird feeling ever.

Food Cravings:  Jimmy John's.  I'm almost willing to risk getting listeria for a flipping Jimmy John's sub.  Please oh please.

Anything Making You Queasy or Sick:  The texture of chicken, still.  I'm also getting really queasy in the morning due to gross drainage (thanks allergies!).

Gender:  It's a boy.  BOY.  Baby Boy Bart.  According to our ultrasound tech, he would not stop showing off the fact that he was boy.  I personally never saw it.  Even after she pointed it out but I'm taking her word on the fact that we are getting what we wanted.  When she told us, Adam got like..a tear in his eye and it was absolutely adorable.  I'm glad my instinct was right.  I was afraid to tell anyone I felt we were having a boy because I didn't want to be wrong...which may sound silly to some, but I didn't want my motherly intuition to already be off!  To reveal our baby's sex, Adam & I had both sets of our parents together for supper.  We carved a pumpkin outside on the porch and after dinner...we turned off all the lights and brought it in.

Piper helping Adam carve our pumpkin.

Piper ended up in a lot of the photos because she cried for me and who am I to say no to that beautiful face?

Labor Signs: None.

Belly Button In/Out: In, but it's already making its way to the surface.

Wedding Rings On/Off: On.

Happy or Moody:  I've been pretty much just in a "blah" mood.  I'm already uncomfortable and in pain, but it's not enough to ruin my good mood.

Looking Forward To:  Now that we know it's a boy, I'm looking forward to starting a registry and getting the nursery started.

Pregnancy Update: Week 17

How Far Along:  17 weeks

Total Weight Gain:  At my blood "specialist" visit last week, they weighed me in at 130....but they don't reset their scale after every use like you're supposed to, so I take it with a grain of salt.  I also use the term specialist very loosely with that quack.  Ugh.

Maternity Clothes:  I still haven't bought anything else maternity.  I'm currently trying to wear all of my sweaters now to try and determine what will make it the next four months.  So far, none of them will.

Stretch Marks:  Still no new ones, that I can tell.

Sleep:  Maybe it's the full moon, but I have slept terribly the past four days.  I wake up at least twice a night to pee.  Then, toss and turn to finally fall back asleep....then, go pee again.  Adam said he is buying me the Boppy Sleep Pillow.  I'm not 100% sure which one Target carries, but hopefully it's something like this (in a different pattern, woof!):

Best Moment This Week:  My birthday was this week and although it seemed like a normal day, I got to spend it with Adam, his family, and my parents.  Pretty good.  We also went to Glendale Days and even though it was disgustingly muddy and cold, Adam got a super cute stuffed Ewok for the baby and I'm excited about it.  Now he has to make it a hood.

Miss Anything:  I officially cannot sleep on my stomach and it's driving me crazy and making me sad.  Laying on my stomach is the only comfy position for me.  I also miss my brain.  Before this, I thought "pregnancy brain" wasn't real.  I am a believer now!  I've been mid-conversation and go totally blank, dropped a full cup of sweet tea, mixed my words up...it's terrible!

Movement:  Well, I still don't want to say, "yes, i've felt the baby"...but these "muscle twitches" that I keep getting are sometimes so intense, they make me get a little bit nauseous.  BUT, if those twitches are the baby, he/she was very happy during church, which is sweet.

Food Cravings:  Over-medium eggs still...and crab legs.  If you were to ask me, "Amanda, what are you thinking about?"  Those two things would almost always be my answer.

Anything Making You Queasy or Sick:  Still with the chicken texture.  Other than that, it just appears randomly throughout the day.

Gender:  7 days!  Still no clue on the reveal, but I guess we'll figure something out.

Labor Signs:  None.

Belly Button In/Out:  Sadly, my little belly is already starting to push parts of my belly button closer to the edge.  I'm so scared.

Wedding Rings On/Off:  On.

Happy or Moody:  It's weird.  I've been incredibly moody.  I will snap on someone so quickly, but I still feel in a good mood after....oh well.

Looking Forward To:  Our construction being completed, hopefully by the end of this week!

Pregnancy Update: Week 16

How Far Along:  16 weeks

Total Weight Gain:  I won't really know until my next doctor visit.  I don't even own a scale.  All I know is that none of my dress pants button.  That's still considered business casual, right?

Maternity Clothes:  I have two pairs of pants that Adam's mom bought me, which I am loving.  They are so comfy.  I also bought three shirts from Kohls because they were ridiculously cheap.  Will I actually need them?  Who knows!

Stretch Marks:  Still none.  I bought the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Cream for Stretch Marks.  I'm probably going to buy the lotion.  This stuff is so thick, it doesn't spread easily and I use way too much.

Sleep:  Sleeping as great as I can by only sleeping on my sides.

Best Moment This Week:  Eating over-medium eggs at IHop.  I shit you not, it was the happiest I have been in a few weeks.  Yes.  Food can make you that happy.  Luckily, Adam was there to see how happy it made me...and the fact that he was there also made me happy.

Miss Anything:  Sushi.  Being able to eat whatever I want at work and not have people lecture me about what's healthy.

Movement:  Again with these muscle twitching things.  I'm still not convinced it's the baby, but if something else doesn't happen so...I guess I'll change my mind.

Food Cravings:  Over-medium eggs, still.  That's about it.  I had cravings before pregnancy, so even when I do crave something, it's not odd to me.

Anything Making You Queasy or Sick:  The texture of chicken, still.  I randomly get very queasy AND sick.  At least it's just once a day now.

Gender:  We find out in 12 days!

Labor Signs:  None.

Belly Button In/Out:  In.  However, I've already noticed it's starting to get more shallow.  This is traumatizing.  Although, not so traumatic I would buy the little bandages I found while browsing Amazon that cover your outie belly button.

Wedding Rings On/Off:  On.

Happy or Moody:  Still mainly happy.  There's still the occasional mood swing.  The slightest thing makes me want to yell at someone...but yet, I still feel like I'm in a good mood.  Is that weird?

Looking Forward To:  Well, this weekend is my birthday.  We have no plans for it, except painting the bathroom and possibly the closet, but maybe something surprising will happen.  Who knows!
